Service
So once upon a time, long, long ago - okay actually just a few weeks ago three friends found themselves traveling along the road of life, so to speak. They were driving along quite happily when their vehicle soon overheated because of overexertion. They found themselves the recipients of one act of service after another. A kind man offered to look at the engine, another gave over the phone advice, while another helped them figure out which liquid to put in the car, one picked up a lonely traveler on the side of the road, another stopped to lend assistance in the snow, one gave them a place to stay at a reasonable price, one found them a reliable mechanic who also happened to be in the middle of nowhere, this kind mechanic towed their staggering vehicle down the road, gave them a warm place to wait, diagnosed their car for no price while teaching them a thing or two about as they spoke, gave them enough antifreeze to keep their car going, another kind tow truck driver literally drove them the extra mile free of charge, etc etc etc. By the end of the trek these three weary travelers found themselves grateful indeed for the blessings they had received on their journey. Life is like that. Sometimes we find ourselves limping along, staggering from one act of service to the next. Sometimes we find ourselves in the position to help someone else along the road and bind up something broken. More often than we realize, I think both happen simultaneously.
